**CryptoParty ist ein kostenloses und offenes Angebot. Menschen kommen zusammen und lernen von einander, wie sie ihre digitale Privatsphäre in Zeiten von allgegenwärtiger kommerzieller Datensammelei und staatlicher Überwachung  schützen können. Dabei braucht Ihr keinerlei Vorkenntnisse, alle Fragen sind bei einer CryptoParty mehr als willkommen!**

==== Warum ====

Privatsphäre ist der Raum, in dem Ideen entstehen. Ein physischer wie digitaler Rückzugsort, in dem manches entdeckt und anderes ausprobiert werden kann. Doch weder Regierungen noch Konzerne scheinen das grundlegende Menschenrecht auf informationelle Selbstbestimmung respektieren zu wollen. Deswegen nehmen wir den Schutz unserer Privatsphäre selbst in die Hand.

CryptoParties sind kostenlos und offen für alle, insbesondere für Menschen ohne Vorkenntnisse und Neugierige. 
CryptoParties finden weltweit statt und sind dezentral organisiert. Ziel ist es, allen Menschen Wissen und Fähigkeiten zu vermitteln, sich im digitalen Raum zu schützen. Dazu gehört die Verschlüsselung der Kommunikation, das Verhindern von Tracking und allgemeine Sicherheitstipps für Computer und Smartphones. 
Bring Laptop oder Smartphone mit, wenn Du die Programme und Apps gleich ausprobieren möchtest.

  * Surfen: Wie das Internet funktioniert und wie sich eins dort sicherer bewegen kann
  * Daten verschlüsseln: Festplatten, USB-Sticker, einzelne Dateien
  * Smartphone-Sicherheit
  * Sichere Passwörter und Passwort-Manager
  * Alternative Betriebssysteme wie z.B. Ubuntu oder Tails

**CryptoParty is a free and open format. People come together and learn from one another how to protect their privacy online in times of pervasive commercial tracking and state surveillance. Absolutely no prior knowledge is required and all questions are beautiful!**

There will be enough time for people to arrive and find a seat. After a short introduction we will start with the crypto workshops.

Privacy is a space where ideas can thrive. A retreat, both physical and digital, where you can explore and experiment whenever you want to. Governments and companies seem increasingly unwilling to respect this fundamental human right of informational self-determination, so we have to take matters into our own hands.

CryptoParties are free and open to everyone, especially newcomers, beginners and the curious. Absolutely no prior knowledge is required and all questions are beautiful!

CryptoParty is a decentralized movement with events happening all over the world. The goal is to pass on knowledge about protecting yourself in the digital space. This can include encrypted communication, preventing being tracked while browsing the web as well as general security advice for computers and smartphones.

To try out the programs and apps at the CryptoParty, bring your laptop or smartphone.

Learning is always an individual process, so we will have separate tables for each topic. Just pick the one you're most interested in.

  * Communication Encryption: emails, messenger, etc.
  * Browsing: how does the internet work, and which dangers to watch out for
  * Data Encryption: hard disks, usb sticks, and/or single files
  * Mobile security
  * Password security and managers
  * Free operating systems, like Ubuntu or Tails
