What is a CryptoParty?
CryptoParties are a worldwide movement to share knowledge and tools about protecting privacy in the digital world. The workshops are free and open for everyone, but are especially focused for people without strong technical skills.
Theme: Securing devices for travel
Our mobile devices carry a great deal of personal information. It is of course convenient to travel with these devices, but many are unaware that when you cross international borders your devices can be subject to search (a search can range from a short manual inspection to a full copy of the device). Device searches affect not only your privacy, but also the privacy of people in your addressbook, correspondences, chat message logs, etc. In this CryptoParty we will explore the implications of traveling with mobile devices and what we can do to safeguard our privacy.
